Stephen Eichhorn: Warm Embrace

Land and Sea Dept., in conjunction with Soccer Club Club, is pleased to announce Warm Embrace, an exhibition of new collage, sculpture and textile works by Chicago artist STEPHEN EICHHORN.  In addition to the new work, there will be a special live acoustic performance by AL CISNEROS and ROBERT AA LOWE (of Om), as well as a rare deejay set from SHANE GABIER and CHRIS PETERS, the duo behind fashion label Creatures Of The Wind.

This event, on Friday November 16th, will be the second of two exhibitions for EICHHORN in November, the first of which - Death is Not Your Friend - takes place at his gallery proper, Ebersmoore, on Friday, November 2nd.  Both shows feature works that continue to be informed by EICHHORN’s fascination with the cult of plants, and the collected collage and sculpture offerings give a nod to a “loose narrative” new to his creative process, referencing sacred rituals and spaces with “figurative, abstract and plant-based imagery.”

CISNEROS and LOWE are known for both their previous and individual endeavors, as well as their shared efforts with regarded ensemble Om.  Here, the two will collaborate acoustically as a duo, offering up a set of contemplative experimentalism.

Creatures of the Wind designers GABIER and PETERS have won numerous accolades over the last couple of years, and their runway shows have attained ‘must see’ status when seasonal New York collections are unveiled.

Land and Sea Dept. is a concept and project development organization, cohesively and creatively working across disciplines.  Its principles have collective decades of involvement in the fields of art, construction, design, event production, identity, marketing, music and woodworking, experiences that have given them an expansive knowledge base to draw upon.

Soccer Club Club is a gallery space on the Northwest side of Chicago, curated and maintained by Drag City.
